LGBTQ Affirming Therapy in Philadelphia

LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy in Philadelphia, PA and DE

Askin Psychotherapy is an LGBTQ+ affirming group practice with queer and trans clinicians, offering therapy for individuals and couples in Mt. Airy and Philadelphia, as well as telehealth across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.

We provide therapy that is not only affirming, but grounded in an understanding of identity, relationships, and the broader contexts that shape your experience.

A space to be fully yourself

We work with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples across a wide range of experiences, including:

  • identity exploration and coming out

  • relationships, dating, and partnership

  • family dynamics and chosen family

  • gender identity and transition-related experiences

  • navigating work, community, and belonging

  • anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions

Some people come to therapy wanting to focus explicitly on identity. Others don’t. Both are welcome here.

🌈 Work with a Queer/Trans Therapist

As a group practice, we have queer and trans therapists on our team. For many people, working with someone who shares or deeply understands aspects of their experience can feel important.

At the same time, what matters most is the quality of the relationship. We take care in helping you find a therapist who feels like the right fit for you.

A relational and affirming approach

Our work is grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship—relationship to yourself, to others, and to the wider world.

At Askin Psychotherapy, we:

  • pay attention to patterns in relationships and how they take shape over time

  • move at a pace that allows for reflection, curiosity, and real understanding

  • integrate psychodynamic, somatic, and mindfulness-based approaches

  • hold awareness of the cultural and systemic contexts that shape experience

We aim to create a space that is thoughtful, collaborative, and responsive to who you are.
