Therapy for Therapists

in Philadelphia and Mt. Airy

A space where you don’t have to be the therapist

Being a therapist means holding a lot -attuning to others, making space for complexity, and often staying present with pain, uncertainty, and vulnerability. It can be meaningful work, and it can also be demanding in ways that aren’t always visible from the outside. Therapy with an experienced therapist can feel like a place to exhale and be seen and cared for.

Many therapists come to therapy not because something is wrong but because they want a space where they don’t have to be the one holding it all together. Even in supportive professional communities, it can be difficult to step fully out of the therapist role. You might notice yourself tracking the other person’s experience, feeling responsible for how the conversation is unfolding, or struggling to access your own needs in the moment. There can be a subtle pull to “do therapy well,” even as a client. Therapy can become a place to gently loosen those patterns and let someone else guide the process

We work with therapists at many stages of their careers, from those early in their clinical work and still finding their footing, to more experienced clinicians who may feel stuck, depleted, or in transition. Some come in the midst of personal or professional shifts, while others are seeking a deeper kind of personal work alongside their clinical practice. Our approach is relational and collaborative. We pay attention not only to what you’re talking about, but to what’s happening between us

Therapy for therapists can feel different. There may be moments when you notice yourself thinking like a therapist or trying to understand the process from the outside. There may also be opportunities to stay closer to your own experience, to not know, to not lead, and to not perform.

We offer in-person therapy in Mt. Airy and Center City Philadelphia.
